On April 22, Earth day will be celebrated by over a billion people all over the planet.

Earth day is not just a celebration of the planet, but a day for educating citizens all over the world about the status of our planet.

“We need to empower everyone with the knowledge to inspire action in defense of environmental protection,” Earthday.org said.

According to U.S. News “Earth Day is credited with starting the environmental movement in the United States, and went global in 1990 with 200 million participants in more than 140 countries, according to the Earth Day Network. It is now celebrated internationally by more than 192 countries.”

Earth Day is intended to raise awareness about the environmental changes faced around the world.

According to the U.N. the theme for 2017 is “Environmental & Climate Literacy” that is intended for education to inspire action.

The following video contains 7 Eye Opening Facts for Earth Day including facts about carbon, deforestation, and water shortfalls.

The environmental movement inspired by Earth Day allows the public to be more informed about the natural state of our earth. Education is vital for citizens of the world to start making changes in their life to reduce their negative impact on the planet.

Soon after Earth Day is Arbor Day on Friday, 28, 2017. Arbor Day is a day when trees are celebrated and planted all over the country in an effort to make the world greener and healthier.

Environmental Stewardship calls for us to get involved. Love your Earth by getting involved in Earth Day activities and planting some trees on Arbor Day.
